Disliked: Staying on 4th floor with a dog is not ideal, worked out ok, but a groubd floor room would have been better

Good, clean, welcoming hotel

Liked: Excellent breakfast, tasted like better than normal, good quality ingredients. Room was clean and everything worked well. Staff were all pleasant and efficient.
Disliked: Arrived mid evening having booked only 15min before. The room window was open and the room was colder than 'well aired'. The single radiator did not make much impression even when turned on to full. Felt a bit chilly all night. Spag bol meal was OK. Good 'spag' portion but another tablespoonful of 'bol' would not have gone amiss.

Last minute but really good...

Liked: Booked here at very short notice due to an issue elsewhere and was warmly welcomed as a guest at reception and swiftly checked in.Went to the bar and restaurant and had a lovely meal and drinks, and again the staff were lovely and friendly.Comfy bed and a good shower in the morning followed by a Really nice buffet breakfast that really set me up for the day.Have to say that the staff here were so friendly and made the stay. Although it was further away from the station than I would have liked, being really picky - was only a 15 minute walk, I’d stay here again
Disliked: The only slight negative I could find was that the lock on the bathroom door didn’t work, but as I was on my own it didn’t matter to me

Disappointing

Liked: The rooms were clean and the staff were friendly.
Disliked: I booked nearly 3 weeks in advance over the phone with a receptionist. I booked 4 rooms, 2 doubles and 2 twins, we travelled with family including myself, my sister and a teenage boy and girl, the reason we booked twins was for the separate beds. When we got there they said that the hotel had been over booked and only had double rooms which was unacceptable considering that is not the booking that was confirmed and this meant that 2 people did not have beds. This was eventually fixed by us agreeing to stay in a broken room (door could not be opened with the key card and only by a member of staff). Whilst we appreciated the fix this should not have happened at all especially as I overheard them say the booking for the twin room had dropped in half an hour ago which means that the room I originally booked was given away!! The beds were uncomfortable and the evening food was disappointing, looked like microwave meals that had been placed on a plate, they got the order wrong twice, paid over the odds for what was delivered. This won't be a hotel we choose when we're through again.
