Good

Simple, good value hotel for...

Liked: Great location for getting to the shops, train station and Eurostar. Within walking distance to most places. Stayed in twin room, had enough space for one hand luggage opened on the floor, then could store it under the bed to keep it out of the way. Staff were pleasant and gave me extra towel with no issues. It was a good value hotel with basic facilities.
Disliked: I read the reviews before booking, and it’s true about there being a homeless bunch sleeping about two doors down in the archway. We just walked on the other side of the road to avoid the smelling part and crossed over at the hotel entrance which is not really a problem. There are not enough plug sockets in the room, literally two in the furthest corner. So I was lucky to have packed an extension lead anyway, and stretched it over to use my straighteners next to the mirror. The hairdryer was awkward to use. Should’ve packed my own shampoo/conditioner as it’s only got a multi purpose thing in the wall. No hand towel provided so you have to ask.

Liked: location is practical and central, very close to the old town and the station.staff very helpful and welcoming.
Disliked: just the street is not welcoming with people sleeping in the doorways leading to it and others who look 'high' passing bybreakfast, was ok but no breakfast tea available, what was labelled as Assam was a green tea, the water was not hot enough.
