Zero star hotel

Disliked: Sauna experience was a total disaster - Only small towels available. Plenty of big ones but sorry they were already used up and lying in piles everywhere.. on the floor, on the foot spa area, on the lounge chairs. There were not enough lounge chairs to rest.. some guests just sat on the floor. A kind guest saw I had nowhere to rest after the sauna and picked up a pile of used towels (not even his!) from one lounge chair to free up a place for me. The room did not have slippers or bathrobe. Checked in the sauna but none there either. Went back down to the reception to request it. Waited for it in my room before I could try to go to the sauna again. Got the bathrobe, no slippers..Very slow service at reception. If you're in a hurry, just forget it - I was at the reception counter 4 times and had to wait each time. Either no one was there or only one person was there, the other was missing and there was a queue. There was even a male receptionist who was deliberately slow when it became clear I was in a hurry. I waited a few minutes while he was checking in another customer but when I started to worry about my train, I asked if there was someone else who could help me. He just said someone else would come soon, without any further effort to call someone else. When he had already given the other customer the room cards, he still didn't turn to help me but asked them a few times whether they needed any help about this and that... They said no, no, no and still he kept asking. I was not asked a single one of these questions when I checked in! All I wanted was my luggage to catch my train! Finally after a few more minutes a lady came and I got my luggage in 10 seconds. Unfortunately, thanks to this guy I missed my train by a few seconds and had to buy new tickets - 300 euros last minute tickets. So this is FIVE STAR Hyperion service? THANKS VERY MUCH.Location - the entrance to the hotel is right beside the side entrance of the main station.

Liked: Everything was really well done. Even the bathroom had been thoughtfully designed with a door that could close the whole bathroom off from the bedroom or just the toilet so that the bathroom could still be used by a second person. Very quiet rooms, great location right next to the station. Breakfast lovely too.
Disliked: That we only stayed one night!

An excellent hotel in a...

Liked: This was an excellent hotel, well located, next to the train station, in the beautiful city of Leipzig. A very modern hotel which uses technology in the rooms to operate lights blinds and air-conditioning from your bedside table. For a technophob this could be a bit daunting, but it is pretty intuitive and you get the hang of it quite quickly. The rooms are a good size, with quality beds and bedding and the bathroom is right up-to-date. What’s the hotel does not have, is its own on-site parking but it is adjacent to a multistory Car Park, which is just a very short walk to the main reception. We were concerned, before arriving, that the location next to the train station and the adjacent number of tram lines would be noisy however, we could not hear any external noise at all, and the rooms themselves are very soundproofed. The in room minibar is free and is topped up daily by the staff.
Disliked: Nothing really although our room gave us access to the business lounge which we didn’t use, primarily because it seemed not to have any air-conditioning in there at all and so was very hot and stuffy.
