Nice hotel, nice staff
Liked: The hotel is new and beautiful, very well located, near the Design District. The room was comfortable and was cleaned every day. We had a minibar, a microwave and a coffee machine. Trader Joe's and Target stores are nearby. Starbucks, many shops and restaurants, too.
Disliked: I have worked for luxury hotels in Brazil for many years and really don't like all the extra charges that hotels in the US do. I had to pay USD 30 per day as Resort Fee, but I never used the pool, the spa or any of the resort facilities. Why isn't that included in the room rate, if it's not optional? I chose a hotel (comparing to others based on the price and evaluation). Hyde hotel was listed on Booking with a room rate of USD 250, but on the weekends the rate went up to USD 300. I ended up paying a lot more than expected (USD 1,500 for 4 nights, without any extras, just room rate, various fees and taxes, and garage). The garage charge is ok, but Resort Fee? Seriously.

Good
Liked: Good location, stayed there because our son and wife are renting a flat in the building
Disliked: no amenities in the room for little self catering. No washing up liquid, sponge or drying up towel. We started the week with sufficient towels but every day we were minus 1 towel until we ended up with one towel between the 2 of us!! had to ask form more.

Nice two-day stay.
Liked: The location was excellent. I liked the pool area as well. I did not take advantage of the gym or restaurant. The room was sizeable.
Disliked: I was upgraded to a VIP suite with a "kitchenette." The kitchenette had a sink and minibar, microwave, and coffee machine. I did not have a stove or any plates, cups, or utensils which I would have appreciated.
