Friendly Staff, But Disappointing Stay

Liked: Breakfast was good, needed to be warmer. Staff was friendly.
Disliked: My daughter and I stayed here while visiting Baylor, and while the staff was friendly and helpful, there were several issues that left us disappointed.First, there was no phone in the room, which made it inconvenient to contact the front desk. I called from my cell phone and waited on hold for 10 minutes, only to be told by the (very polite) front desk staff that I needed to come down to retrieve what I requested. I was already in my pajamas and trying to avoid the lobby, which was crowded with a loud group.Additionally, I found two small bugs in my bed in the middle of the night (hopefully the video I have uploads) —definitely unsettling. The advertised 24/7 "restaurant food" wasn’t available, forcing us to leave the hotel to eat after a long day. This was one of the main reasons we chose the hotel, as we wanted to relax and snack in our room.Finally, the room itself felt a little worn out. The flooring and trim had visible damage, which gave the space an overall unkempt and icky feeling.While the staff was doing their best, these issues made our stay just okay rather than comfortable.

Fine other than fact that...

Liked: Most everything
Disliked: Didn’t like the fact that I couldn’t check 20 minutes early. As a matter of fact, I couldn’t check in on time at 3:00! We had a scheduled event at 4:00 so we gave up trying to check at 3:15. Reloaded our luggage in car and came back and finally checked in at 5:40!

I would not stay here...

Liked: large room, quiet
Disliked: Handicapped room with a door that was very difficult to open and close. Toilet was very low to the floor was made for children, not adults much less handicapped seniors. Water pressure was so low you could barely get a wash cloth wet. A volley ball team took over the common area in the main floor and no one else could use the facility. Breakfast was horrible. Usually there are hard boiled eggs and individual yogurts but not at this place. Cost cutting measures have gone to far. All the cereals were sugar coated.

I think I have said...

Liked: I did not stay all night. I left at 11pm and checked in at another hotel. I plan to call management. I would like my money returned. The television in the room did not work. I let Elizabeth know when I left for food. When I returned I noticed the televisions working in the lobby. I went up to room with food. TV still not working. Tried to call front desk but phone inoperable. The flexible cord attaching handset to cradle of phone was missing. I walked down to lobby, talked to Elizabeth, and was told those phones are wireless. What? No. I asked why the TV's in lobby seem to be working and showing programming, I was told they were on a different circuit. What? Ridiculous. Elizabeth was no help at all in any sense of the word. I decided I was not getting any action or answers and since I hadn't unpacked I went to the room, got my luggage and left. I have stayed in numerous hotels over my years of travel this was the worst hotel experience ever, it was customer service. Treasure employees and pay well those that make your business look good. They absolutely make a difference. I will not be returning to his hotel.
Disliked: Management on duty or a more personable knowledgeable clerk.

Liked: Friendly staff and clean and comfortable rooms
Disliked: Breakfast bar was just ok

I won’t be staying there...

Liked: Room was great size. Plenty of room. Location was perfect for our needs.
Disliked: The flooring in the room and the condition of the flooring and carpeting in the hallway of the second floor. The floors were uneven, wavy, and I sank down so noticeably in one spot in the hall that I thought I was going to fall through. The condition of the carpeting in the hall was deplorable. The hallway was also humid and extremely warm.
