Exceptional

Liked: Everything was new, fresh and clean. The room was quiet and the lobby was luxe.
Disliked: Why is there no sign on the ground floor entrance directing you that the lobby/reception desk is on the second floor? We stood looking confused for quite a bit until a kind valet staff guided us upstairs.

Location can’t be beat.

Liked: The location was central yet being one street off Michigan Ave made it quieter. Hearing that it was under construction made me nervous but we heard very little noise. The staff were very friendly and we loved the Starbucks in the lobby. Executive suite was huge for city standards and perfect for our family of four.
Disliked: Room was showing its age and felt a little dusty. Could not get the temp below 70 in the winter even after asking for help. Sofa bed had spring poking out- couldn’t use it. Looking forward to visiting when construction is finished as I think any issues I had will be resolved then.

Liked: The rooms were clean and the hotel is in close proximity to attractions, restaurants, and shopping.
Disliked: I reserved a suite for my daughter’s birthday sleepover and upon arrival I was informed that due to renovation there were no other suites available. I was offered one king bedroom in place of a suite for 6 people. I then countered for accommodations comparable to the suite and the best Hyatt could offer was two king bedrooms. Although the rooms were next to one another they were not adjoining and to ensure that my daughter and her friends were comfortable and safe I constantly had to shuffle between the two rooms all night. To my knowledge, it’s illegal for minors to stay in rooms by themselves which I expressed to the hotel staff and the hotel manager blamed booking.com for not having an accurate record of their inventory and suggested that next time I booked directly via Hyatt with no other concessions or compromise.

Overall exceptional experience.

Liked: Chicken noodle matza ball soup at the lobby bar.
Disliked: There was no reception in the lobby before the Mag Mile Holiday parade.

Disliked: The bathtub shower …The lack of soft drinks at the concession cubicleThe watered down soda at the bar…we asked for a coke and a ginger ale to take to our room at end of the night (no ice). It was so watered down it was in drinkable

Solid and Quite Acceptable if...

Liked: Great location for family getting procedures at the hospital, also near to restaurants and coffee shops, shopping, nice lobby.
Disliked: Rooms slightly outdated, I prefer glass showers to curtains, a bit old or dated on some items, not a full set of amenities in the room, no view from my room.

Liked: It had a great whirlpool and the workout room open 24/7 very good location to Walk to everything
Disliked: The room service was over priced and the restaurant didn’t have a big selection of food and was overly priced
