Bad
Disliked: I realize I paid for a balcony room but they put me in a double room.

An awesome family-friendly lodge that...
Liked: Wonderful stay that was cozy and fun! The room size was big and accommodating for my husband, me and our two young girls, and the location was awesome! A couple minutes down the road from Hunter Mountain for an easy ski day, and right across the street from Scribner's lodge where we grabbed drinks/dinner one night.
Disliked: The bar and fireplace were great and we LOVED the live music on Saturday and Sunday nights-- but the food itself was just OK.

Disappointing visit, with little effort...
Liked: The lodge (I mean the building itself) is rather nice. We booked one of the lofts, which was spacious. Location is also a big plus. Unfortunately, the positives end here.
Disliked: It is a longer list:- Immediately when you make your turn from the main road, you are treated with 2 huge potholes, which resonates with many other aspect of this establishment: the lack of care/maintenance- upon checkin, we were greeted with by a not too friendly receptionist- after entering the room we faced a very different layout than what the pictures showed. We asked the lady to move us to a room that looks like we booked, but she blamed booking.com for not using the appropriate picture for the room type. I asked if it was possible to pay extra to get the room we wanted to stay in and that I understand that might mean that we have to change rooms a couple of times, she said that it is not possible, because they are fully booked for the entire time of our 4 day stay, which turned out to be a lie because in the last two days the whole place was half empty- the next problem was that it was cold in our room. we went back to the reception, the lady was giving us attitude, it turns out that the battery was completely dead in the thermostat, so again, it was not user error but a lack of maintenance. After changing the battery, the heating did not work and she suggested that it should not be a problem, because we can count on the neighboring rooms to get some heat from the walls. Yes, this was the offered solution at a "high end" lodge for a family with a 3 year old kid in the middle of a winter storm. Of course they don't keep space heaters as a back up option- mind you that there is no staff on-site after 9pm- our balcony door was closed permanently without the option to open it- on certain days they have live music in the ground floor which is pretty loud even on the second floor. they have a door that seals of the corridor so that people can rest, however the door won't close because it is broken- there was a snowfall during the first night we have been there but the handicapped ramp was not cleared even 3 days after the snowfall!!!
