We had a great stay at HoJo, Pasadena. We were running the Pasadena half marathon and the hotel provided us with free bottled water, extended breakfast house and extended our checkout. Location is great - walking distance to yummy restaurants. Staff was very friendly.

More of a motel than...

Liked: Clean. Free Parking. Eateries within walking distance. Supermarket and vibrant Pasadena downtown within driving distance.
Disliked: Breakfast was practically non-existent. Yes, there was coffee and milk but breakfast was basically staff going to Costco to purchase in bulk cereal, some individually wrapped pastries, and two dozen Cup of Noodles. No yogurt, no juice. Of course you then wouldn't expect any nuts, eggs or pancakes. Very sad. Also, no placard to tell staff not to clean the room that day or for privacy. Finally, the wrong sized coffee pods, as in too small, for the larger coffee makers in room.

Cheap Choice

Liked: Relatively short drive to points of interest. More reasonable price compared to other Pasadena options.
Disliked: Facilities run down and unmaintained. Great need for updating. Breakfast is the sparcest I have ever seen for a hotel. No quiet.
