House of 1833 Bed and Breakfast, Stonington

Delightful B&and be with scrumptious...

Liked: Evan our host was a delight. Clearly, an expert on his family heritage and the background regarding the house. More delightful antiques, books, magazines, games, etc. than you could even take in. The room was cozy, the bed was very comfortable. Loved all the antiques and how they wove them into the ambience. We thoroughly enjoyed our multicourse breakfast. Yummy Country breakfast with side of ham and yummy pumpkin waffles with spiced apples and home cooked potatoes. Plus delightful, homemade cinnamon rolls Everything was homemade. Evan took a genuine interest in us, and was very open about sharing stories but also gave us privacy as well. Wish we had more time to spend there.
Disliked: We are not pet people. But Evan was respectful about the dogs being in a separate section of the house with gates. They were not noisy and were happy to greet new comers to the house.

Liked: Owner is an amazing person! His breakfast is homemade and delicious. He explains everything and he makes breakfast with his love.
Disliked: Our room was very cold! We turned off AC but didn’t work.

Liked: Beautiful house with a wonderful warm host. Good parking and lovely outdoor areas to relax. Swimming pool is lovely and is particularly nice to sit by in the evenings

Liked: A very unique property. This is not a cookie cutter hotel ! Each room is uniquely decorated. Breakfast was amazing. Our host asked what we would like to have for breakfast. Outdoor pool was well maintained and gorgeous amongst the gardens.
Disliked: Nothing !

Ecclectically perfect. I felt like...

Liked: Being greeted by Evan and his warm, welcoming style and smile, made the whole little getaway beyond great from the start.And, the doggies were an added bonus.The home filled with antiques, history, great smells of food cooking, the guests, the ambiance...etc., etc., etc., made me never want to leave.Well done!Xo

Liked: The host, Evan, is a highly educated man with many interests and capabilities. My wife and I were very impressed with his breakfasts, which were different and of gourmet quality each morning. Large bedrooms.Coffee is from daily ground beans from the best sources. Teas were from around the world. The interior has a huge collection of clocks, many mirrors, antique furniture, pictures and history.Great 50' pool and newly resurfaced tennis/pickle ball court.
Disliked: We would have preferred breakfast to be earlier, like 8:00.
