Very good

Liked: The staff is really nice, there is a lot of parking and the hotel is really clean especially considering how old is the building and how outdated is the refurbishment. The breakfast was good.
Disliked: A lot of the other guests were really grumpy. Maybe there use to come here when it was a luxury hotel or maybe it was because it was All Saints' weekend. The wellness is not really wellness, just a small pool with some extra facilities which need to be reserved ahead of time.

Not family or pet friendly...

Liked: I liked that it was still open after 8pm.
Disliked: I’m tired of places that say they’re pet “friendly” and then want to charge 20€ for a night. Rather say pets are tolerated at a high charge and make the charge known. Worse of is charging children that cosleep in the same bed. So you might as well say family and pet unfriendly but tolerated at high costs. Advertise pool facilities but you have to register and possibly even pay extra to use it. Complete BS

Very good

Liked: nice location, beautiful pool, very friendly staff.
Disliked: very old shower. there was what looked like black mold on the wall of the bedroom, and my wife had a scratchy throat after her stay that went away when we left. we never brought this up with staff and never tested it.

Nice spa facilities but disappointing...

Liked: Swimming pool and spa. The heated indoor swimming pool, sauna and hamam were very clean and well maintained. The reservation system meant that we often had the whole area practically just for our family (six people).
Disliked: Restaurant. We were told by receptionist that the restaurant provides children’s meals and made a reservation. However when we tried to order the waiter said the option did not exist. The waiters were not friendly and the items on the menu were limited and poorly cooked. When we tried to add the bill to our hotel account, we were told that this was not possible, so we paid the bill in cash. When we went to checkout, we found an extra 50 euros charge from the restaurant on our account. The receptionist said this was an error for another room but this demonstrated that we could have charged the meal to our account. Such was our experience that we never used the restaurant for the rest of our stay. For a four star hotel the toiletries were extremely limited. There was no shampoo or body lotion. In the shower there was only hand-wash liquid available

Beautiful place but the staff...

Liked: The place is very beautiful and authentic. The location is very comfortable for night before the flight.
Disliked: The staff were not very friendly or helpful. We asked in advance to postpone our stay because the check out is very early and we just told it’s not possible without any alternative proposal or trying to help.

Pleasant

Liked: Good breakfest, allmost very good and nice staff. Nice rooms and swimming pool.
Disliked: Walls were so thin one can join a conversation which takes place in the next room without leaving your room. Dinner in the villas restaurant was disappointment, food was bad, couldn't finish it although hungry.

Over-priced and faded facilities

Liked: Large, comfortable room and bathroom, while the breakfast also had a good selection. An impressive and elegant building from the outside, with pleasant grounds.
Disliked: While the furnishings are elegant and period pieces, the rest of the decor is faded and the interior has a somewhat desolate feel. The staff on arrival were not particularly welcoming, the WiFi was extremely unreliable and the A/C was very noisy. It's a long way from the centre of Verona, accessed via a not particularly nice area. Very expensive for what it offers and all in all, seems to be relying on the past glories of a historic building.
