Superb

Liked: Breakfast was brilliant - served by really pleasant staff. Lift from station to hotel very welcome...it's so handy for the train so no need for a car if you simply want to travel by train and bus. Moneglia really pleaseant. And what a restaurant - what a treat to find a Michelin restaurant which was amazine plus all the staff and the owner are a delight - so friendly and helpful.
Disliked: Can't think of anything

Liked: Peaceful location, near the station and town. The room was lovely and a nice balcony.
Disliked: Lacking in atmosphere, a nice pool area but tired old loungers, and the jacuzzi wasn't working for a full day. The pool toilet/changing area was really old and scruffy.Staff were nice but not overly friendly and the lady serving at breakfast made no attempt at customer service Breakfast portions were really small - a portion for two of the speciality breakfasts had two minute piece of tart served with the meats and cheese ( cheese portions small) and when asked what eggs I would prefer - only one boiled egg was brought out, despite my husband having a good portion of scrambled. The croissant selection was good however and yoghurt was available. Really disappointed in this speciality breakfast especially. So much so that we cancelled a planned dinner there. I was very disappointed as the visit did not match my expectations for the price.

Apart from the payment issue,...

Liked: If you are a walker or plan to explore the wider area, Villa Edera is ideally situated for the train station. It is just a few minutes walk downhill or you can take their wonderful private lift, especially helpful if you have luggage. It is also just a short walk into the town centre and the beach if you wish to swim or dine or both. The hotel is well decorated and the housekeeping is excellent.
Disliked: I hadn't realised that payment would be made direct to the hotel and was surprised to receive a demand from them for payment 18 days before we were due to arrive - Booking.com advised payment from 14 days. This caused some confusion as I thought it may be a scam. I dropped a line to Booking.com but they failed to get back to me before I have received a second demand. I had thought that payment would be made automatically through Booking.com and was worried about paying twice or being defrauded. I did contact the hotel but simply they reiterated their demand for payment. This was not helpful.

The dreamiest place in all...

Liked: This property is an absolute dream come true. I was amazed when we arrived—it not only matched the online pictures but actually exceeded our expectations in terms of location, aesthetics, and the incredible staff (who are true GEMS). The setting is so picturesque it feels like a movie set.The breakfast was fantastic, featuring apple croissants that will now live in my dreams forever, and coffee that was simply unbeatable. The pool is stunning, surrounded by hanging grapes and a beautiful garden that made everything feel even more magical. The rooms are uniquely designed, each with a charming name that reflects its inspiration, and they’re well-stocked with everything you could need. The reserved beach chairs added a special touch to an already perfect experience.The staff were all wonderful, but Michelangelo and Barbara truly made this trip an 11/10. We felt completely at home and were so sad to leave. I never expected to fall in love with a small Italian coastal town so much! If I ever find myself back on the Italian coast (fingers crossed), I will definitely be staying here again.

Magical experience.

Liked: Magical… transports you to Italy and with a touch of Germany… in a jiffy. Spotlessly clean Edera and staff are precious family and, you are treated as such the moment you step on property. We will be returning soon.

Disliked: Behaviour of the hostess. She got upset about a mistake we had made, and instead of coming over and talking to us, she scolded us from a window, in front of other guests.

Lovely hotel but room was...

Liked: Hotel Villa Edera & Torretta is a stunning hotel with views overlooking the picturesque countryside. Barbara warmly welcomed us upon arrival and gave us a tour of the property. The pool area is lovely, although only one gazebo provides shade. The restaurant is outstanding and offers a secluded dining experience with breathtaking views.The hotel's proximity to the train station, just a 5-minute walk away, makes exploring nearby towns like Portofino and Santa Margherita very convenient. While the train station's convenience is a plus, the noise from passing trains can be a downside.
Disliked: The room, while beautifully decorated, is very small and lacks practicality. The balcony offers little privacy, leading to a feeling of disorder and chaos during our stay. The limited space even resulted in the cleaners removing our cushions due to the lack of storage. Given the nightly rate, the room did not offer good value for money.

I wish we stayed longer...

Liked: Staff and Owners invited us into their very special hotel with grace and utmost care. Great advice for novice walkers, they gave us privacy to enjoy the hotel and its facilities yet welcomed us as extended family.

Liked: Super handy for the station and so exploring Liguria and Cinque Terre. Lovely bar and lounge area. Great breakfast.
