Attractive hotel, pitiful breakfast, poor...

Liked: Large comfortable room, simply furnished but very pleasant. Since we arrived by car, we wanted easy access and not too far from the historic center, and the hotel’s location fits the bill.
Disliked: Astonishingly spare breakfast: coffee, tea, orange juice from concentrate, croissants, little bread rolls, bowl of apples; hardly up to claimed 4-star classification. (We have been traveling for a few weeks in a France, Germany and Austria, and the 3-star hotel breakfasts far outshine what little was offered here.) Surly defensive manager: Upon arrival, she told us, as expected, the breakfast hours. She said it was a simple continental breakfast (indeed!), and handed us a flyer, saying, “This is if you would like more.” The flyer listed restaurants around town. Essentially, “If you don’t like the breakfast, go somewhere else.” The hotel offers a few parking spaces for 15€ per night, which we took advantage of for the first night. On the afternoon of our second day, we returned to find the lot full. We parked in front of the hotel and went to the manager to ask for advice about parking options. Her responses were (1) No, I told you that we can’t guarantee parking; (2) No, you can’t park in front of the hotel because thats for deliveries. We kept saying, OK, but where can we park? We don’t know Salzburg, you do! (3) Pulling out a map, she circled two garages nearby, which was at last helpful. (4) Then she said, almost as an afterthought, “You can park on the other side of the street. You just need to use the parking kiosk to pay for the hours you want.” How much nicer it would have been if she’d just said at the start, “I’m sorry our lot is full. Here are some options for you instead.” Funny how some negative attitude can tarnish an entire experience.

Liked: It is a beautiful property, awesome location very close to the river and Friendly staff. Overall we love the stay.
Disliked: Breakfast could have been better, limited parking and no staff available at night

Liked: Room is very spacious, friendly Staff. He gave us an upgrade with a balcony. Room is great has AC esp for the hot summer nights in Europe. Breakfast is simple, but good. Location is great as it is walkable to the center and sights of Salzburg. They also offer parking.
