Superb

Liked: Lovely old Hotel overlooking Lowestoft beach ,very friendly staff on arrival ,the room was what we expected very cozy and warm with tea making facilities tv and over bath shower old but clean and good enough for our 1 night stay . We loved the idea of the energy saving lights that were motion sensored & as an energy saver gets my top marks Breakfast was very good indeed & filling a form in advance made it easy and better for us and the staff to prioritize food as to not wait long ,the view from the dining room amazing overlooking the sea ,staff were very young & professional so cant fault them as they always had a smile ,1st ever visit but definitely not our last
Disliked: we were not there long enough to make any comment on anything negative ...

Perfect location, polite and friendly...

Liked: The location was glorious, the staff all really friendly and helpful. My room was perfect for my requirements. Water hot, tea and coffee replenished each day, housekeeping if I wanted it but not if I didn't. Dinner and breakfast available if I wanted it. Comfortable place in the bar to do some work when unluckily for me it became necessary to plug back into the world for a few hours during my stay!
Disliked: Housekeeping didn't always follow their own rule that if you hang your towel up it means you are happy to hang onto it for another day of use! No bedside socket. Only terrestrial TV. Nothing important but you did ask!

Exceptional

Liked: Superb pleasant and polite staff. Super location, adequent parking. Had a wonderful 3 course meal in the evening. Food was just excellent.
Disliked: I can't fault anything about the stay. It was perfect

But for the lack of...

Liked: Staff were very helpful and positive. The location was superb and the breakfast was excellent value.
Disliked: My (single) room was acceptable, although the single bed was a little too small. My main problem was the lack of heat in the room. On a cold and windy night, my room was very cold …even though the heater was functioning….and no extra blankets in the room. Finally, the shower in the en-suite was very weak, while the hot water..wasn’t. I like the hotel and the staff give the hotel a fine front-of-house look..but my sleep wasn’t the best.

Disliked: Old sash window rattling all night in the wind.
