Dreamy rooftop location with top...

Liked: PROS: Fantastic location on the right side of the river so that you can look at the castle. Walk to all the sites you want to see in the old town on both sides of the river. Rooms were spacious and beds and linen were top!. Toiletries were also from good brands. Breakfast at the rooftop is a dream - restaurant staff provide world class service!! Our room had been recently painted and the smell bothered us upon check in and so front desk apologized and immediately moved us to another room. 5 Star customer service!!!. CONS: parking lot is not onsite so you need to park in front of hotel for loading and unloading and then drive a couple blocks to it. (I guess it couldn’t be perfect for such an old location!)

Liked: We had a wonderful welcome at this hotel with a glass of Prosecco which was a really nice touch. Perfect location, clean and modern with friendly staff. The best part which I didn’t know about until I arrived is the roof top bar !! Views to die for!! What an absolute gem this hotel is !

Liked: Alexander was just the best concierge ever! Very knowledgeable, attentive and respectful! We had a great time in Salzburg and I highly recommend Hotel Stein! Location is perfect

Location, comfort, staff and facilities...

Liked: Staff extremely helpful and efficient both during check in and check out. Our rooms (we had 3) were all lovely, spacious, clean, fridge, drinks etc. Beds were very comfortable. Our rooms were at the front, but very little noise at all. Hotel superbly located with a walk across the bridge to the old town. We had a marvellous birthday lunch on the hotel roof top restaurant - make sure you book as very popular! We are looking forward to a return visit.

Fabulous city to visit and...

Liked: Room was delightful with a panoramic view of the old town, the river and the last of the Winter snow on the Austrian Alps. Very comfortable room and breakfast was brilliant. Loved our stay here. Should have stayed longer than two nights.
Disliked: The only issue was the room temperature which was far too warm for our liking. Tried to adjust it but to no effect. This has been a familiar issue for us in European hotels.

Exceptional

Liked: The personnel showed an excellent attitude in providing solutions to some problem not related to the hotel but to some restaurant in the city. I do really appreciate this and note that it is very rarely found.
Disliked: To lower a bit the price
