Liked: Hotel Senator is a really nice hotel, and has been for many years. The atmosphere feels like home and the hotel has its original personal look. Much better than all the boring modern hotels, who all look the same.

Perfect for a city trip

Liked: Excellent location for a city trip, with inhouse parking garage, close to public transport, museums and theaters. Room was good, very quiet, comfortable, everything clean and in good working order. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was perfect.

Comfortable hotel close to the...

Liked: Hotel Senator is located conveniently close to the main train station. (which itself is well connected to the airport by a frequent urban train) The staff is very friendly and we could even check in early as the room was already ready. The facilities are merely old-fashioned, but still very comfortable. I had a reservation for myself only but for an additional €40 per night, my wife could join me. This also included breakfast which I have to single out at this hotel: it is particularly delicious and the variety was exceptional. It is convenient that while the reception and breakfast area are on the first floor, the ground floor accommodates an unaffiliated convenience store which came in handy whenever I had to make a small purchase.
Disliked: The elevator has an oddity that it always returns to the first floor whenever it is not in use. That alone wouldn't be an issue, but whenever you want to go to your room from the ground floor, it would always make an additional stop at the first floor.
