Hotel Schloss Leopoldskron, Salzburg

This is a must stay!

Liked: Absolutely loved this stay, they were very grounds were amazing and we did not want to leave. Very romantic and could sit outside for hours looking at the views! The breakfast was fantastic with many options and sweet staff and an absolutely gorgeous setting as well!

Peaceful property but not walkable...

Amazing and beautiful property!

Liked: The property is beautifully set in an old palace. It’s besides the lake and the mountains so the view is spectacular. It is a little away from the old town or the main centre of Salzburg, but with the car one can reach the centre easily. The breakfast is outstanding.

Liked: Great location came for The sound of music location we weren’t disappointed was so good . Loved the facts there were free bicycles to borrow which we did and cycled round the lake

The breakfast is a MUST!!!

Liked: We chose this hotel for the connection it had with The Sound of Music. The grounds are really beautiful and although we stayed in the “annex” hotel, the palace itself where breakfast is served is amazing and really made the stay special. The breakfast had SO many hot and cold options and honestly really worth a visit whether you stay at the hotel or not. The hotel is a short/medium walk from the centre and the bathroom was nice too.
Disliked: For the type of hotel it is and the rate we paid, the “annex” hotel is a little worn. The table had marks all over it and was not standing even on the floor and the window and radiators were grubby where I had to wipe it all down before we hung a hanger off of it to dry some clothes we washed. The room was also really warm with no air con options (which I can understand if the type of building doesn’t allow for air con units) but prepared to be warm.
