Liked: The location to Santander Port is great. Good dog friendly beach just 15 mins drive away. Carrefour and big shops a short 5 minute drive away. Local Patisserie around the corner (Peter & Pan) open 6am until 9pm every day. Food is delicious and so much better than the congealed tapas in the hotel. The hotel has a very busy gym. The gym/spa and hotel share the same reception area. Spa is modest but worth the small cost. You have to wear a swim hat and flip flops. Pool is pretty small.
Disliked: The noise from the banging of the weights in the gym. Resounding in the bedroom. I could hear arguments in the room next door to me until 1pm, when I finally asked to be moved as I had ferry next morning.The extra costs for the dogs is extortionate. I think it should be based on how much mess is left and pay accordingly. My dogs are extremely clean and don't make a mess. To pay so much extra for 2 dog beds which they obviously wouldn't sleep in because they have other dogs smells, seemed a bit of a joke ... on me. I'm a solo traveller so am always getting double whammied for paying for the room then all the extra costs on top....A room is a room. I think children would probably make more mess than my 2 well behaved dogs!!!

Exceptional

This was my second visit...

Liked: Didn't have the breakfast but the dinner was very good and good value for money. Excellent location for catching the ferry to Portsmouth.
Disliked: All good.

Wouldn't hesitate to book this...

Liked: It was a stopover before we caught the ferry from Santander so its location wasn't important to us. The staff were very friendly. The room was spacious and very clean.it had complementary on site car parking
Disliked: Nothing, it served our purpose very well

Liked: The location was really good. Near to a dog friendly beach - just 11 mins drive away. Near to Carrefour and other stores. Good views. Near to ferry port.
Disliked: So very noisy. There is no sound proofing in the room. So the gym weights can be heard until the gym closes. Unable to sleep. Could hear the room next door peeing and also arguing loudly. Finally at 1am had to request a room change. I was offered no recompense. The hotel charged me an extra 40 euros for my 2 quiet dogs for the 2 nights we stayed, as well as a 50 euro deposit. It's a shame they weren't offering recompense for not fulfilling their part of the contract and ensuring a good nights sleep for myself and my dogs. Very disappointed that they felt this was a fair transaction. Health and Safety issues in the garden area. The handrail going down into the garden area is completely loose. Needs to be fixed as a matter of urgency. Dangerous.
