Staff steals things, problems with...

Liked: The location is convenient.
Disliked: The breakfast portions were getting smaller every day. There were security issues. The safe in room 115 didn't work. They kept valuables in backpacks. One day I discovered that my cosmetics had been used. They left a napkin with lipstick stains right next to the mirror in the room. They also opened my mascara. They threw valuables from my backpack under the bed so that they could pick them up later (if we had left and hadn't checked for them). No one apologized for the incident. They listened, nodded their heads and that was it. I'm sure that this staff will continue to work at the hotel. Be careful and check your things!

Liked: The staff at the hotel were all great, very polite and professional. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The location was perfect at the border of the Roma and Condesa neighborhoods. It is a very lively area with plenty of restaurants, bars, coffeeshops etc within a short walk. The outside of the hotel and the central atrium have a nice Deco style to them.
Disliked: There was construction while I was there. They stayed within the hours that the staff told me about and I was out most of the day so it didn't bother me but may have been a bother if you were planning to stay at the hotel much during the day. There seemed to be some sort of minor confusion with room assignments in which another guest somehow accidentally opened my door while I was sleeping in the early hours of the morning. They were just as startled as I was and it all worked out fine but it was a little unnerving in the moment.

Liked: Although this is an older and dated hotel, it’s nice and we enjoyed our stay. The location is superb. Our room was very clean. The bed linens are nice quality. We had several meals in the restaurant and the food was good. I ordered room service one evening and was told my meal would arrive in 30 minutes. It actually arrived in less than 15 minutes. I ordered a Cesar salad & French fries. It was delicious (see photos). The food service and housekeeping staff are wonderful. Internet was fast.
Disliked: If you are seriously planning on booking a stay at Hotel Roosevelt, ask about renovation progress (writing this February 2025). We were unaware of construction going on on the 4th floor. Machinery started around 8:30 AM. If you’re an early riser, this shouldn’t be a problem but if you want to sleep in, forget it. Our room was located on the 2nd floor and it sounded like construction was happening directly above us although it was on the 4th floor. As other reviewers mentioned, there is quite a bit of street noise, loud vehicles, sirens etc. We felt the location overrode the noise and the hotel did provide ear plugs. The staff was exceptional except at the front desk. The woman there when we checked in was not welcoming at all. It was like we were an intrusion in her life/job. We brushed it off because other reviewers mentioned how accommodating and helpful the staff was. This was true, thank goodness. The bathrooms offer very barebones supplies. You receive a bath towel, bath mat & hand towel (bring your own washcloth). You get a small shampoo, small bar of soap and small bottle of lotion. Bring your own hairdryer and hair conditioner. The shower was spacious and the water pressure was decent.

Comfortable, and excellent location.

Liked: The location is excellent, right near the Amsterdam Avenue - lush green space with beautiful buildings. Next to a bus stop, has 2 pharmacies nearby as well as Orinico Tacos. The rooms were comfortable and the staff was polite.
Disliked: I had no issues with this hotel.

Liked: Clean room, and great location. The personnel was friendly.
Disliked: As mentioned by other reviewers, don't forget your earplugs, the street was very loud. Furthermore, there were very loud construction works going on in the hotel, they could have at least warned us about it. Luckily it stopped around 6pm, but going back to the room to rest or do some work was not an option. Also, the shower did not always have warm water.
