Liked: Ideal seafront location, walking distance to Pavilion and large car park. Nice room, bathroom and shower a little dated but ok.
Disliked: Bathroom a bit dated, but still ok. Very hot overnight, and even hotter by morning! In November! I can see why a fan was in the room!

Out of season service needs...

Liked: The breakfast and breakfast staff Alvarro and Gabriel were excellent and went out of their way to accommodate us.
Disliked: I was in the 2nd floor and the room walls are paper thin so you can clearly hear conversations from the next room as if you were in the same room. Also there were disruptive noises from the room above so we were awakened by the people next door and from the floor above as they were out much later than us. To be fair, they were not unduly noisy , it was just that we could gear everything.We also didn't like that we received mixed messages from staff regarding the cost and availability of room service. On the first night out , our room order was taken and then they called back to charge us for it. When we decided not to pay the extra, we found room service had not been cancelled when we went down the next morning so my sister who has mobility issues could have avoided going down to breakfast after all. When asking about room service on the second night, we were categorically told by reception that room service was not available in the hotel at all which we were told on leaving (and through ready previous reviews) that it was available.We stayed for two nights in total and we were given complimentary shower gel and soap for the first night only.We were told at first that they were only given on the first night when we asked for more on day 2. Then we were told by staff on leaving that we could have asked for more but the fact was we did. We had asked reception previously only to be told that as complimentary shower gel was not advertised, there was no obligation to provide it as the Rex was only a 2 star AA rated accommodation.
