Liked: Nice room with comfortable bed. Good smell of shower gel. And amazing breakfast. It was the best one I have ever had in the hotel.
Disliked: I thought about a bottle of water. We arrived in the evening and it was no place to buy it. Also a church is near there, so you must be prepared for ringing of the bell.

Very disappointing

Liked: The three rooms we had in the annex of the hotel over the road were clean, spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was good. There was a very reduced menu being served in the bar on the evening of our stay, as there was a wedding being hosted in the hotel. We knew this at the time of booking, and the food was fine.
Disliked: We had booked and paid well in advance for five rooms at the hotel, but upon our arrival we were greeted with blank looks and indifference from the very few staff in the main building. After a long time waiting, we were told that previous guests had trashed two of the rooms making them unusable, and that three of our party would have to stay in another hotel. We had arrived by bicycle after a long day of cycling, but were told it was only 15 mins away. It wasn't. It was over 45 minutes over hilly terrain. The alternative hotel was lovely, it had a pool and fantastic restaurant and we would stay there in preference if we were in the area again. At no point did we receive any kind of apology or explanation of why the hotel or Booking.com couldn't have let us know beforehand at the very least. There were no other restaurants or cafes in the area.

Ok hotel but disappointing if...

Liked: Rooms where lovely and very clean. Charming old hotel. Breakfast was good.
Disliked: Very disappointed that the restaurant was closed. We has driven for 9 hours with3 kids and the restaurant is apparently closed on Mondays. To alternativ in the town. Had to get in the car and drive again to get food. No reception open. Keys just left at the door.

Liked: the staff were amazing, we arrived before the check in time but they turned up with room keys. At breakfast I had a dental emergency, the owner was fantastic, she arranged an appointment with her dentist for me and helped find the lost crown in the trash. Service beyond anything I could have expected.
