Great hotel in a beautiful...
Liked: location is great.Staff were lovely and helpful.Airport bus just 50 m away.Nice room, comfy bed.
Disliked: Think it might get a bit noisy at the weekend. We stayed Mon-Thurs and the last night was a lot noiser with a popular bar next door.

Very disappointed with not having...
Liked: The room was beautiful with sunny windows and view to the market. It was sparkling clean too!
Disliked: There was no hot water in the morning and after calling the reception we were told that they were aware of the issue and that it would take 5 minutes for it to be sorted. We waited for half an hour and ended up taking a cold shower as we had to leave soon. We were told that sometimes they need to restart the water heater if someone complains which makes it clear that they are aware of the issue, they just don't fix it. At least let your guests know what to do in case it happens instead of making a cold shower ruin their experience.

Beautiful rooms in perfect location
Liked: Such friendly and helpful staff, from welcome to departure. So well located. Stunning rooms with balcony.
Disliked: It wasn't too much of a problem but due to its central location it was noisy at times late at night and there is a safety light that is permanently on by the bedroom door which could also disturb sleep.

Very good
Liked: We stayed for four nights in the well located Hotel Pazo de Altamira, where the staff were very friendly and helpful. They were also quick to respond to messages sent. The hotel is just a few minutes' walk from the Cathedral and is opposite the food market, with many other historic buildings around this area, so we did lots of walking. When we asked at Reception, we were given a map of the city and the receptionist kindly highlighted the most important places to visit, such as the cathedral, parks for great views of the city etc. and also where to get amazing ice cream! (Heladería Sotto Zero) You will find lots of wonderful places to eat - from tapas bars to restaurants - to suit all budgets, but for a fantastic fine dining taster menu, we really enjoyed ANACO.Our accommodation was simple and clean, overlooking a small square and church. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of sockets in the room for charging phones, camera batteries etc. It was great to have the enclosed balcony area to use on the couple of occasions that we returned to our room during siesta time, giving the feeling of being outside but sheltered from the rain.On checkout, it was very helpful to discover from Reception that the airport bus stop is only two minutes' walk from the hotel - and the bus only costs 1€ per person for the journey! A bonus is that the stop is next to Caylo bakery, and the small Tartas de Santiago purchased for breakfast were not only delicious but still warm, making the chilly wait for the bus much more enjoyable. I wish we had known about the bus at the start of our trip, as we thought the stop was at the bus station, a 20-minute uphill walk away, but maybe I missed this information somewhere along the line. Unfortunately, this meant that we had booked a (pre-paid) taxi from the airport, through Booking.com, which cost a lot more than 2€.
Disliked: Whilst it was just a small issue, we would have liked to have had some sort of coffee in our room, as there were only herbal teabags. We bought some coffee bags from a supermarket, and some milk that we were able to keep in the very handy minibar, but as we had to buy a larger quantity than needed for our short stay, we had to leave the rest behind which was wasteful. Personally, I also prefer there to be a mirror somewhere in the bedroom, as well as in the bathroom, so that two people can get ready at the same time and you don't have to wait for the bathroom mirror to demist after the shower has been running. If the long mirror on the inside of the bathroom door was on the other side of the door (in the bedroom), that would solve the problem. It would also be helpful to have a reading lamp on both sides of the bed and not just on one side. I was the lucky one! That being said, these minor issues would not stop us from staying at the Hotel Pazo de Altamira again nor from recommending it to friends and family.
