Enjoyed our stay
Liked: Friendly and helpful staff, able to communicate in English. Comfortable hotel beds and we enjoyed the hot showers in the winter season. Spacious room for luggage. Great location and within walking distance to most of the historical attractions. Many restaurants and cafes nearby the hotel. Highly recommended.
Disliked: Can have more lighting in the room.

Great location, better options out...
Liked: The location was very good and the staff really went out of their way to help us, we appreciate that we were told that the TV was broken before checking in.
Disliked: Maybe if the TV is broken from previous guests, it should be taken off the wall. Or have a replacement TV ready for this cases. I worked in hotels and we always had a spare one. Looks like the hotel owners don't want to spend money on the property. Breakfast was pre booked on arrival, when we call on the morning asking if we could have a couple of coffees and 2 croissants, we were told that they count how many book previously and they count the pastries for those people. Fair but this is a service business... seems incoherent. If you want people to have an excellent service a couple of pastries is like 20 pennies each. The cleaning of the room was far from good, there was dust everywhere and the limescale on the shower head was black and white, the rooms would be deep cleaned at least every week. Unsure if thats, again, a problem with management not wanting to invest money on the adequate amount of team or just insufficient training from housekeeping. The place needs a maintenance guy, plugs were teared off the wall and not properly fixed which is a hazard... waiting for someone to get shocked?Overall not worth the money, which is sad.

A definite recommend!
Liked: This is a lovely hotel. The staff are really helpful, giving advice on local places to eat etc. The hotel is situated in the beautiful medieval streets with good access to the Cathedral - well worth a visit- and the old walls. The room was clean, fresh and quiet. There was a kettle, vital for us Brits
Disliked: I liked everything!

Good
Liked: Perfectly located for the town. Nice bars and restaurants and the cathedral close by.
Disliked: Parking was a bit tricky. The shower in our room was filthy. I wouldn’t use it. And we had a suite dedicated to love. Which was a bit unsexy really.

A great location, with fab...
Liked: A great location - but it comes with eccentricities! Top notes were: 1) Reception staff were great 2) location is fantastic 3) this hotel has ‘character’ 4) full room amenities offered - safety box (blocked!) mini-bar, kettle, toiletries, bathrobes & slippers 5) full breakfast available if desired 6) bathroom cubicle - worked well separating it within the room, and the water was piping hot 7) early check was allowed, and 8) our room was clean, and cleaned daily.
Disliked: The lower notes or “Curiosities”: 1) decor was dated and touch-up would have helped; 2) A Trip Advisor reviewer warns against the over-complex, often faulty, so-called-‘smart’ electrics which have to be experienced to be believed! In our room (104) we followed instructions label and pressed lighting but the curtains auto-closed rendering it complete darkness. It was a bit “Fawlty Towers ” or Woody Allenesque but we worked it out the correct buttons eventually. There four lamps that didn’t function at all, so pointless. 3) when the curtains closed they were trapped by the TV. (Possibly a fire hazard?) 4) on the first night despite setting the “Do Not Disturb” sign the housekeeper made a lot of noise to wake us up at 8am. At 9:50am as we were getting ready to leave, reception rang to tell us we must vacate our room for it to cleaned. (Totally bizzarre - as we’d had no info on the housekeeper hours impeding our sleep or rest - whilst on holiday, plus check-in time is after 3pm so what was her hurry when we were staying on??). 5) its not a very eco-friendly hotel - towels, sheets etc cleaned every day regardless of our ecological choice, and even if we had barely used them. Despite these curios we had a good time because Girona people are amazing, the city has so much to offer beyond the hotel room which is just for resting/sleeping in (so long as you are out by 10am
