Long lines at check-in - only two people checking in a line back to the front door. You would think that a hotel by a convention center would be used to large numbers of people checking in at one time! We went to the bar/restaurant. Actually sat at the bar. It took the bartender at least 10 minutes to wait on us. Would not change the channel on the TV to show an Elite Eight basketball game. Then, when we finally got to our room, we were given double beds, although I requested a king when I reserved the room (back in November)! When I called the front desk, the gentlemen told me that I had requested two double beds when I reserved the room. I told him I had requested a king bed and he argued with me. I told him I had a copy of my confirmation email that indicated a king bed and that I would bring it to him and show him. Then he finally backed down and gave us a king bed room. Service was poor; definitely overpriced for the service they provide! Probably won't go back.
Liked: Convenient for a concert.
Disliked: Not worth the price!

The overall experience and appearance of Hotel Murano was one of the best I have ever experienced. Having been born and raised in Tacoma and coming back to enjoy a concert at this location was very much a vacation. I will NEVER stay anywhere else for a concert at the Tacoma Dome.
Liked: Beautifully remodeled hotel with tastefully appointed guest rooms.

Liked: The hotel was clean and modern.
Disliked: There was no overhead lighting in our room. So coming back to the room at night we'd have to fumble around to find the lamps and switch them on. There also was a surprise $26 a night parking fee that I was unaware of. There also is no sound insulation from the outside and there were police and fire sirens both nights, people yelling outside, gun shots, and just... everything to keep us from being able to actually get a good night's sleep. I won't ever be staying here again and won't recommend it to anybody.

Liked: The art everywhere, it was almost like an art museum. The king bed was comfortable. Our room had a view of Mt. Tahoma. Upscale feel in the lobby and elevators.
Disliked: Bath towels were meh.

Wasn’t worth the price
Liked: The size of the room.
Disliked: I like the room size. The furniture was low quality. Very old and worn down. The bed was worn down. I couldn’t get any house keeping. Told me i have to book in advance for it. Couldn’t even get my sheets on my bed changed. No ice machines worked on any floor. No gift shops. The vendor machine was down. It was so complicated. They tried to charge me for stuff i didn’t ask for. They were not compromising at all. The staff wasn’t helpful. Don’t book on the weekends because the water won’t stay hot. The fridge was very small. No microwave for the piece I’m spending. They don’t even have one down stairs. The parking is terrible. Not even attached. Didn’t feel safe leaving my car. Homeless people had a lot of access. Came out to a flat tire.

Liked: Comfortable bed Beautiful landscape Different pieces of art displayed in the hotel.
Disliked: I was showering (before 9 am) and all of the sudden, the water was cold. I had to rinse off the shampoo with cold water. There was no way to turn the heater off, so you were always listening the noise, which was loud, therefore I would recommend earplugs for sleeping. The "patron lounge" area needs to improve. The area was not as nice as other hotels, and the "snacks" choices were poor. For breakfast time, the lack of choices is something that definitely needs to improve.Overall, I think it's an expensive hotel, and is not worth it.
