Disliked: After entering the PIN to pay for our stay at check-in, the receptionist took the card machine and selected the "GBP" conversion option, which costs nearly 5% more than the inter-bank rate. My bank doesn't charge a fee for foreign transactions, so I didn't want use this conversion option and wanted to pay the cost in EUR - as per the booking confirmation.However, the receptionist insisted I had to pay the 5% markup for conversion. Only when I asked for the "libro de reclamaciones" (complaints book) did the receptionist agree to speak with her boss, who reluctantly agreed to give me a refund and charge me in EUR instead. Clearly, the hotel is trying to scam unwitting tourists into paying the conversion fee presumably they get a share of the fee.Furthermore:* The apartment was advertised as having 4 bedrooms, but one of the bedrooms could only access the common areas by going through another bedroom, so it was not really a separate bedroom (more of an 'annex' to another bedroom).* The noise proofing was very poor* The beds were uncomfortable * The car park spaces were incredibly tight, making it very difficult to park

A quiet refuge in the...

Liked: This was by far the best stay I've experienced in quite a while, and I've travelled a lot. For Ramadan, I needed a warm, quiet, comfortable place with an in-room fridge and a kitchen, and this stay filled the bill. It's right around the corner from the Mezquita at-Taqwa, and a variety of halal food is a few steps away. Heat was just right, plenty of hot water as other reviewers have noted, and the kitchen is perfectly equipped and convenient for stays of several days. The housekeeper kindly helped me locate my misplaced phone on my first day there, and the manager / owner made sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. They clean only on request, which is extremely considerate especially in comparison to other hotels nearby. But fresh towels are only a WhatsApp message away. I'll be recommending this stay to friends and family, God willing.
Disliked: I was completely happy with the stay.
