Liked: Couldn't be more 10 than that. Fantastic host, stunning view (they upgraded for free), wonderful position, amazing breakfast (many things home made). We will go back for sure. Thank you so much for our incredible holidays. Grazie. Obrigado. Merci. Danke

Good stay, marred by a few unfortunate items
Liked: The breakfast was excellent. The view and the seating arrangement on the balcony was great. The facilities were very comfortable. There was sufficient parking.
Disliked: Unfortunately, the check in hours are very strict - only from 11:00 to 16:00. You cannot arrive outside these hours. This needs to be very clearly stated before making a reservation. The email correspondence with the staff was cold - no greeting and no understanding for arriving outside those hours. It is not difficult to make a code or some other kind of accommodations for late-arriving guests. The hotel name is Mohren, which is German for Moors and is the oldest (now unacceptable) German word for Black people. There is a porcelain statue of a Black man at the hotel entrance. As a Black person, I find this inappropriate and offensive. I understand if the name cannot change, but the statue and any other reference to Black people should be removed.

Lovely Hotel for a short...
Liked: Excellently run hotel, very pretty rooms, wonderful beds, generous and delicious breakfast with self-made products, comfortable balcony with a view of the lake. Especially at night it was beautiful to see the lights across in Switzerland. Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Great starting point for hiking and biking. Hagnau is a lobvely little town with plenty of restaurants and wine bars and a lovely promenade on the lake. The beautiful medieval town of Meersburg is a only half hour hike from the hotel.
Disliked: The main road goes thru center of town and all the traffic has to drive thru .so although we were here in MArch and traffic was low, one could still hear the trucks early in the morning.
