Mercure-Micaud is back !

Liked: At last, the hotel is back to what it was a few years ago. I love all the renovations undergone since then, especially the freshly repainted walls, the new carpets, doors, and locks. Fresh juice is also back at breakfast. As usual, the staff are friendly, there's a parking lot and the location ideal, with or without children.
Disliked: Renovations are still underway : I could have done without the sound of drilling coming from upstairs, but at least it didn't happen before 10am. For some reason, no one did my room on my next to last day even though I had left the sign out way before 11am.

Liked: It is a comfortable and well located hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the stay at Mercure

Great location for visiting Besançon

Liked: We stayed one night, on a motorcycle tour. The location is good, close to the Micaud city park, convenient to the center. Air conditioning is available, though with dated and noisy systems not always working. However, the front desk staff was courteous and helpful in changing our room to a similar one but with more effective ac system.We did not choose breakfast at the hotel!
Disliked: The hotel is rated 4 stars but the overall impression is a bit decadent, both at the entrance and on the floors. Renovations are in progress in several rooms but sketchy, keeping the furniture dated and ruined. Bathrooms need a complete replacement of the bathroom fixtures and drainage system.

Good

Disliked: Hotel was under refurbishment so restuarant was closed during our stay and there were occasional sounds of building work. However, this was a minor inconvenience and the concierge gave us vouchers for free drinks at the bar to compensate.

Passable

Disliked: First of all, air conditioning. It was so noisy that at night I felt like I was on a plane. If it cooled as much as it was noisy, there would be icicles hanging from the ceiling in the morning. The fact that there was rotten ham on the menu in the morning was just proof that there was room for improvement.

Very good and would recommend...
