An excellent few days in...

Liked: The hotel had excellent facilities and the staff were welcoming . The location is located near to the Guggenheim and between the new part of town and the old town.
Disliked: Nothing

Good but with room for...

Liked: The Melia Bilbao is located close to the Guggenheim with lots of bars and restaurants nearby. All tourist areas were easily accessed by walking and the hotel is located adjacent to parks and river walks.
Disliked: The maintenance of the room was disappointing (carpet badly stained) and the breakfast didn’t live up to expectations. The towels and dressing gowns were also not to a 5 star standard. We’ve stayed in the Melia previously ( Seville & Milan) and this Melia was definitely below the standards found in those 2 hotels.

Liked: The staff was very helpful and kind. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, with a lovely view on the park. Great location if you are travelling with kids - it's a calm neighbourhood with many parks around.
Disliked: Complimentary bottles of water upon arrival would have been appreciated. Also, the main entrance is not wheel-chair accessible, you have to use a lift instead, which can become a little tiring if you are going back and forth often.
