Unassuming at first glance, but...

Liked: To be honest, I wasn't expecting much based on the location (near major highways) and the pictures online were not the greatest. However, this place was great! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The place was immaculate. The breakfast was really good too (the usual fare, but had an automatic pancake maker and great pastries).The pool had undergone maintenance so it was cold, but the facilities were nice. Had a one bedroom suit with a private room; and speaking from experience, you sometimes get a "private room" that is tiny or doesn't have a door (true story). This had a door and each side had their own bathroom. We have to come to KC at least twice a year for our kids' doctor appointments and this is the first time I've stayed somewhere and thought to bookmark to be sure to stay again.
Disliked: The pool was cold and the hot tub was down, but that's because they were doing maintenance. A bummer for this visit, but in the future I expect it will be great. You don't always see people invest in their properties, but the owners seem to take care of the facilities.

Liked: The breakfast and staff were excellent. The hotel was very clean.
Disliked: They didn’t have air conditioning. We had to have a fan brought to the room. The hotel was run down and wallpaper was peeling off the hallway walls.
