Three nights in Dresden

Liked: Beautiful period hotel that survived WW11 built in 1884. Very close to Dresden hauptbanhof. Friendly staff and good sized rooms

Exceptional

The rooms are very big

Liked: Location very close to the Metro. Super bonus for us
Disliked: The owners said we couldn’t check in early which we knew already and we were fine as we were going out to explore Dresden. We wouldn’t be back till 9pm. We left and I forgot something in my bag 5 min later and we went back. There was a different person at the front desk and checked us in. Definitely language barrier.

Disliked: Staff only speaks in German.

Disappointing

Liked: Close to the train station and the city centre. Beautiful building.
Disliked: Uncomfortable beds, not very clean (cobwebs) We had to call a German phone number to get the check-in instructions (a simple message would be enough). Not a very swift response regarding messages (or no answer at all). The lighting (flickering lightbulbs). Not well isolated, need to have heating on. Loud noises whenever people closed the entrance door.

Liked: Location, facilities and fantastic interior of the building.
Disliked: It was difficult to communicate in English with the person at the front desk.

Really enjoyable

Liked: Very friendly staff. Excellent location. Easy to explore this beautiful city on foot. Beside train and flexi bus station. Very quiet. Big room. It had character.
Disliked: A kettle would be a bonus.
