Great location

Liked: The location was perfect. Close walking distance to almost all important sites and very close to excellent restaurants. The rooms and bathrooms were large and clean. The windows open for a breeze.
Disliked: Very few of the rooms have any view other than airshafts looking at other rooms. As we were gone most of the day was not a major problem.

Lovely, older hotel in an...

Liked: As another reviewer wrote, it's all about location, location, location. The hotel is literally around the corner from St. Stephen's, it's right by the metro, and it's in the middle of everything in the Inner Stadt. I only had the breakfast buffet one morning, but it was very good. The staff were lovely - very professional and pleasant.
Disliked: I booked a solo room. The size of the room actually was ok, but the bed was literally a single bed, and the mattress was very soft. The pillows also had nothing in them, they were just a soft lump. I did ask after a night of tossing and turning for firmer pillows, if available, and they delivered three to my room, one of which was pretty good. I have no problem with the fact that this is an older hotel - it's quite lovely in many ways, but when you can't sleep, it takes away from a great review.

Liked: I like this type of hotels with some ancient vibe when I travel to Vienna, rather than the modern hotels. Several advantages for this hotel: location: very close to Stephensplatz, I like to be in the center of the city so I can walk without using a transportation; cleanliness and comfort of the room; exceptional breakfast.
