Troy, Wurtsboro, visiting Le Poisson Rogue Mon, 15 October 2018

If you get "upgraded", I would recommend declining the upgrade if it envolves the 18th floor. Nothing spectacular for a view of the city either so it's not worth putting up with the never ending noise.

Liked: Staff was courteous. Rooms were clean. Hotel was very nice.
Disliked: We were "upgraded" to a room on the 18th floor. I don't think "upgrade" should've been used as an adjective to describe this change in rooms. I'm not sure how small the other rooms are in the hotel but this room was pretty small for an "upgrade". We've stayed in 50 hotels in NYC and understand that most rooms can be small. This just wasn't expected as an "upgrade". Then there was the noise in our room, 1808. It was like sleeping in a mechanical room. It had a sound of either a high volume plumbing/mechaincal riser in the wall or that an exhaust fan was directly above the floor causing the air to be choked down so much that it created turbulence noise. Whatever it was, it was non stop. It never changed the entire time we were there. It actually kept me awake in the morning when I was hoping for a few extra hours of sleep.

Perfectly located hotel with exceptional...

Liked: The hotel is perfectly located with access to restaurants, river walks, and the subway. The room was spacious (especially for NYC) and really considered (nice bathroom, iron, plug sockets etc). The staff were efficient and helpful and the coffee shop next door provides complimentary coffee!

Convenient but far from perfect....

Liked: The hotel location suits us very well and I've stayed with you many times. The bed is comfortable. The high-floor views are good. The night receptionist was exceptional in helping to address a leak in one of our rooms, and Maria on the front desk was efficient in arranging the change of room.
Disliked: The room lacks hanging facilities for outdoor clothes and the wardrobe is not good for long clothes/dresses, the secondary blinds have been removed so the room is very light now and that disturbs my sleep, the showers are now looking tired and have poorly calibrated shower heads and poorly repaired tiling in the shower itself. We are still awaiting the refund of our $800 sundries charge, which in itself I find unacceptably high.

Good

Liked: I had a great stay at this hotel! The staff were very friendly and attentive, making my experience even better. The location is perfect—everything is within walking distance, which was a huge plus. I also loved how clean the room was; it really added to the comfort of my stay. The only downside was that the room was a bit small, but it didn’t detract too much from my overall experience. I would definitely recommend this hotel!
Disliked: The only downside was that the room was a bit small

I won’t stay again.

Liked: Thé heating and cooling system. The bedThat there was more lighting in the room and hallways than the last time I stayed. The bistro downstairs.
Disliked: Small rooms with little natural light. PillowsBroken shower handle and running out of hot water. Liquid body soap container didn’t work. Would I ask the staff for help on these? No, see below. Wait at elevator. LobbyFront staff and cleaning staff not very helpful or responsiveCleaning staff absent. We were gone all day and the hour we were home before going out again all evening was when the cleaning staff arrived. They said they would come back but didn’t. Another day they didn’t come.I left a message for the manager, Chris? About the room rate I believe I was incorrectly charged and s/he didn’t call back. I have left with Booking.com on line about the room rate and the reply was to talk to the hotel. I talked to the hotel and they said talk to Booking.com

All in all, our stay...

Liked: Relatively clean, good location, friendly staff.
Disliked: - There seemed to be some plumbing issues with the hot/cold water difficult to manage. - at times there were communication breakdowns with having to remind front desk personnel’s for requests made (eg. Water, receipt post stay).
