Liked: We walked from the train station to the hotel with our luggage. I recommend a taxi, because it is uphill. The location is great for seeing historic Girona. The room is beautifully appointed in an historic building, which more than made up for the absence of views from the windows. The breakfast was excellent with a very comfortable well designed and appointed dining room as well. It is a friendly location for cyclists with nice display case homage to the sport in the hotel lobby area. We came as tourists, not cyclists and we appreciated the great walks from the hotel in the heart of historic Girona.
Disliked: I would have liked more information from the hotel about getting to the property.

Liked: Excellent location with the most superb recently refurbished family room. Beautiful property with a friendly owner at the heart of Girona's old town.
Disliked: The breakfast was underwhelming.

Comfortable historic location with friendly...

Liked: We loved the fact it’s smaller, family run and has the historical feel located right beside the cathedral in the older section. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and the staff was excellent!
Disliked: Please note that the mini fridge turns off when the key card is not in the slot. We left our card in the slot but when we went out during the day (presumably cleaning staff), removed the key, which meant the fridge was turned off. I am noting this because our son (who thankfully was not travelling with us this time), is on daily antibiotics which need to be refrigerated and this would have been an awful situation for us. The room had a musty and/or stuffy smell - but once the fan was on for a bit it’s fine. Again, they removed our card from the slot while we were out so the fan stopped, so when we would return to the room the smell was there but quickly left after we turned the fan on. The charms of a historic place!

Liked: Hotel Historic was wonderful - the location was amazing, the staff were lovely and the room was well appointed.
Disliked: While the bathroom was beautiful, it didn't function well. Every time we showered, there was water all over the floor due to the lack of shower curtain or adjusting the shower head. Also, it would have been great to have some dish towels so we could have washed our own dishes. And perhaps soap as well.

Clean, comfortable, excellent location.

Liked: Really handy location, right by the town and most places you'd want to go to are maximum 15-20 minute walk. The staff were very friendly and showed us a map of all the nice places to go as google maps was no use. The downstairs area is lovely and comfortable as is the upstairs rooftop to relax in the evenings.
Disliked: Our bathroom didn't have a door as the glass door was broken, also the shower had no holder for the head so you had to hold it yourself when you wanted to take a shower. Not much natural light in our room as windows very small and room quite dark.

Very comfortable hotel in a...

Liked: A few steps away from the beautiful cathedral, this is a very comfortable family run hotel. I had the basic room which was very comfortable. The area on the hill in Girona’s beautiful old town is atmospheric and amazing with those spooky “game of thrones” alleys and stairways plus it’s next door to a beautiful art museum and the Cathedral which was famous for being the starting point of the “Walk of Shame” in Game of Thrones. The very pleasant couple that run the hotel have perfect English and if you opt for the breakfast they cook and serve the food too.
Disliked: It’s a 4* hotel in terms of room and comfort but like many establishments in this part of the world - there’s no restaurant/bar. I think for Catalunya this is normal, as there are many places to go nearby for food and drink. The breakfasts are a little basic (could be a little more choice of fruit and cheese) but good quality. The location and comfort makes up for any such shortcomings though.
