Great stay, great value for...

Liked: Spacious room & bathroom, comfortable king size bed, great breakfast buffet with open kitchen, also a good choice for dinner. Walking distance to the old town. Bus no 77 stops in front of hotel. Tram station to attractions also 5 min. away. Friendly & efficient staff. A plus is the water machine provided on each floor to refill. Good value for money, thank you!
Disliked: The only difficulty we had was the GPS directions to find it by car. It appears as Gran Hotel Bilbao, not as Spirit Gran Hotel Bilbao. There are many exits, tunnels, bridged & roundabouts in and out of the city which makes it complicated if you miss the right turn. Atxuri is the sign you turn to enter the hotel road.

Handy stop for Bilbao port

Liked: Really handy hotel for getting to Bilbao port - 14mls. Secure parking for €17. Approx 15min walk into old town which was beautiful. Restaurant opened at 7.30 and we were first in. We both had steak which was the best for €21 each. Dessert was not worth the €7. Breakfast was €15 each and it was fabulous. Buffet style with everything you could want. Our bedroom was on the 8th floor with a view of the bridge. Bathroom had bath with shower over. They also had a water station on the floor for free refills.
Disliked: The area was a little run down. The hotel was a bit weird in places with its art and colours.
