Amazing location, really central

Comfortable and within our budget.

Liked: I liked that the walls were not too thin. Bathroom was nice. Room was nice. Location was good. Within walking distance of many restaurants and shops.
Disliked: No heater and no microwave. Wish the bed were queen size as well.

Disliked: Old AC unit and it was quiet cold. I could also hear a lot the noise next room

Liked: Ten points for location, if you like the area around Union Square. Close to BART (to the airport for instance) and the streetcar; efficient check in, good fridge in the room..
Disliked: Sleep with interrupted frequently by an obnoxious clicking or tapping sound, which during the night I could identify but turned out to be water dripping from the upstairs a/c on the metal body of the a/c in my room's window. Very loud, especially at night, and ear plugs could not block out the sound. I took a video - it's like someone tapping his fingers on a drum. Apparently it only happened when the other a/c was on - since it was early November that didn't need to be the case all night. Some relief! To an European traveller it's hard to believe so many US hotels require a safety deposit on check-in - they apparently don't trust their customers; and although in theory it's only a reservation for the required amount (100 dollars!) on your c/c, you end up paying some money anyway as the amount taken and the amount returned is not the same due to currency conversation and different rates on the 2 transactions. Never mind that after almost 3 weeks the money still isn't released, which the hotel solely blames on my bank. My room featured 2 single beds (no other option available when booking) but I found them uncomfortably small sized. The room didn't have much space for luggage either.

Good price for central location...

Disliked: The room was small and pretty dirty. For me, it was not a big problem, but clean freaks would have a heart attack here.
