Liked: Very friendly staff, very colourful interior and amazing bartender - makes a delicious amaretto sour. Room 12 will be my second home for as long as I continue to visit family in Castlemaine every weekend

Nice decor, but room itself...

Liked: The decor & bathroom/spa were really good
Disliked: Floor creaked. Building & room needed maintenance. Room itself had cracks & walls were scuffed. marked & dirty. Was a very hot weekend & aircon did not work well. On the second night it was leaking, dripping in the room, was noisy & hard to sleep.

Good

Liked: The hotel is historic and as long as you focus on that you can get past the creaky floorboards and age. It is in a great location in the heart of Daylesford where you can walk to almost every corner of the town. We stayed in the top room (Vue) so the view was great, the room was clean and everything was there that we needed. The staff are really friendly and accommodating, the food in the restaurant downstairs is great too.
Disliked: It would have been nice for the air con to be on when we got there, it was 35 degrees and being the top floor it was HOT. It took ages to cool down and then the air con stopped working overnight. Made for a restless nights sleep. Night two was the same, only the condensation from the air con was dripping onto the table which staff had covered with a towel - a little concerning that it was dripping past the back of the TV.

A nice short term getaway

Liked: Overall the place was enjoyable; food was nice. The room was a good size.
Disliked: The mattress was not comfortable - a bit worn, so my partner and i slept in a hole each side of mattress - the massage we had during the day went to waste. Good size room overall, but we felt it was a bit tired and needed a bit of maintenance.
