I will not stay at...

Liked: Location to grocery, laundry services and restaurants was great.
Disliked: No coffee option in the room, they wanted to charge for a morning cup so I instead walked a couple blocks and paid it to someone else. We asked for two beds as I was travelling with my adult son. When I booked, I my requested two beds, they had no problem taking my payment but later notified me “What you requested can't be arranged ahead of time but Hotel Flandrischer Hof said they'll do their best to accommodate you on arrival.” My follow up emails to confirm my request were not answered. I should have cancelled my booking at this point. Our room was a “small”queen bed with a very uncomfortable mattress. We did not sleep well for the two nights.

Exceptional staff. Located just off...

Liked: My room on the sixth floor was spacious with a large bathroom, including a separate shower. The bed was very comfortable. However, the parquet floor needs updating. Breakfast was not included and at a cost of €15 was reasonably priced due to the great variety available. The best part for me was the reception desk staff, which was exceptional at all times. The location is very central, but away from the inner city. However, trams and buses from Rudolph Platz run every few minutes and you can reach the main train station, the old city, and the shopping area within minutes.
Disliked: No safe to store valuables in room. Sure you can use the safe at reception but that is awkward and inconvenient and can take valuable time during busy periods. The cost of stay could be an issue for many travellers to Cologne. You have to plan around the many conventions because prices are during those times very high. So I booked accordingly well in advance, making sure my stay would fall in between convention time. But pricing remained relatively high at this hotel.

Liked: Central location close to the inner city, lively with many restaurants and bars in the area. Very helpful hotel staff.

Liked: Nice ( large) room ,excellent bathroom . Good breakfast in pleasant room. Helpful staff.
Disliked: No bar. Underground car park ( 5 storeys) very narrow entrance and ramps - don`t take a large car !

Disliked: Very dated hotel decor and the photos did not match the photos advertised on booking.com, it's not as modern as pictured 1980s decor with poor lighting in roomNo kettle, coffee or tea making facilities in room - desperate for coffee on arrival and in the morning Booking.com advertised breakfast would be included in price (another reason for booking this hotel) but hotel said that no meal plans was with booking so we had to find breakfast ourselves at different cafeWould be very disappointed if had booked longer stay going on photos advertised and to what we actually hadNo air conditioning or fan so had to leave windows open which not helpful as street festival in full swing, although it didn't bother us, it might be busy for some people It did the job for a night but would look elsewhere if staying longer in area

Great location, parking quite limited...

Liked: Central location, value for money
Disliked: Be careful, parking garage is really narrow and small, even difficult to navigate with a small car. There is a garage nearby which is convenient but rather expensive.
