It is what you should...

Liked: Hotel Fitzroy is in a neighborhood whose main street is Ponsonby, a street with shops, restaurants (we ate dinner in the area every night) and nightlife that many visiting Auckland might never go. The hotel itself is about 125 meters from Ponsonby in a quiet neighborhood of lovely homes. To start, the staff cannot be complimented enough. Pablo and Eric went above and beyond time and time again from which wine tour to take, which restaurant to eat in and which route to take to walk the almost 2.5km to the port, downhill the whole way. No request was beyond their doing. The day we arrived they got brand new mattresses for all the rooms, and they are ultra luxury mattresses and sheets. The made to order breakfast is delicious and plentiful. The facilities are what you would expect in an upscale bed and breakfast.Highly recommended.

Highly recommended boutique hotel

Liked: Located just off the vibrant Ponsonby Street made it perfect for us to go shopping and access to lots of great eateries. Pablo, the manager and Eric were both extremely helpful and even managed to check us in early. Clean, great free bar for a glass or two of wine in the evening and breakfast was excellent. They even had two complimentary bicycles that we used around the city. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed my stay and...

Liked: Fabulous Breakfast in the balcony. Service was excellent. Room and amenities very luxurious. Shower and bathroom exceptional. Bed was super comfortable. Peppermint tea on arrival was delicious. Nice touch having drinks hour in the afternoon.
Disliked: Hard to get suitcase up the stairs. Staff were very helpful in assisting with suitcase. A little road noise from the street.

A lovely, small hotel that...

Liked: We had a plane delayed and instead of arriving at 5pm we arrived the next morning at 5AM!! And Pablo came right out, helped with our bags, and made us feel super welcome.And the breakfasts--astonishing. Afternoon canapés and wine--beautifully presented.Location too, in a quiet neighborhood yet 2 blocks from Ponsonby. Best of both worlds.
Disliked: I can't think of a thing they haven't already thought of. Seriously, they just don't miss a trick to make you feel at home.

Lovely hotel in a great...

Liked: This is a lovely boutique hotel. We had a very professional welcome from Cuong Manh Ha who was very attentive and he gave us great restaurant recommendations (Prego is fabulous).Breakfast was very good, it is ordered in advance and can be served in your room or on the balcony where there are two small seating areas.A nice touch is the complimentary wine and nibbles which are served every day at 5pm.
Disliked: No negatives

Exceptional

Liked: Beautiful property with so many amenities, we felt very cared for. The location was perfect, so many shops and restaurants in walking distance. We will absolutely stay here again.
