Very disappointing stay, bad service,...

Liked: Location.
Disliked: We rented two rooms, one with 2 beds (#350) and one with one bed (#453). Both rooms smelled pretty bad, coffee makers didn’t work, we could never prepare a coffee. But the second room (1bed) was really really terrible: the sink was besides the bed!, the tub really nasty (as you can see in the picture enclosed), the safety chain door lock was broken so I felt unsafety to sleep by myself there, the closet wall was broken, it had a hole on it. So I found really uncomfortable to sleep there and I decided to go to sleep to my friend’s room. For all these details and since I didn’t use that room to sleep I am kindly requesting a total refund of my money (C$123 dollars), or at least a half rate discount!! That room shouldn’t be offered to other guests anymore!!Also, the first room was not good, the carpet was dirty and the sheets smelled bad. And, a very important detail to mention is the parking. When we did the reservation it said that the parking was included, however, we had to pay around 20 dollars per one night, and it was very far from the hotel. I think the fairest is to get a fifty percent discount of this second room as well.We must say that the pictures shown in the webpage are NOT the same as the rooms we got.We really look forward to be refunded for this terrible service.Thank you in advance,LG

Pleasant

Liked: The location is superb with a very nice view and enough supplies. The bed was confy and the coffee machine did the job just right. The room was clean.
Disliked: There is literally no staff in the hotel, we were received by an envelope and had to guess that the code written in the envelope corresponded to the pin required to open the door. One of the rooms lacked a microwave. Daily cleaning fee per room and no daily cleaning, what is up with that

Disliked: Little things could of been better, like dirty coffee cups, the shower curtain was moldy, there were dust everwhere

More of a guesthouse than...

Liked: Great location in the Old Town, comfortable beds, good shower.
Disliked: No staff present except for unspecified times of the day - I was told I could check in from 3pm but when I arrived at 3:15, no one was there and I had to wait around 30 minutes until someone arrived with my card to allow me to check in. This was the only time I saw a member of staff the whole stay. This also meant I couldn’t leave my luggage at the hotel after check out, because there would have been no one to look after it or to collect it from.The room cleaning system was unclear too - there was a sign informing me of what I needed to do to indicate I wanted my towels / bedsheets changed each day, which I did, but they were not changed, despite having a ‘please clean’ sign on my room door.

Liked: The location of the hotel was excellent. We were able to walk with our suitcases to the cruise terminal. We had dinner and breakfast at nice cafes near the hotel. We liked the quaintness of the hotel and the little sitting area with a fireplace.
Disliked: Checking in was a little worrisome. There was no receptionist and the code that was emailed to me ahead of time did not work. However, there was a phone number to call and a person answered immediately and gave us the code to open the door. It was a little difficult to pull our suitcases up to the second floor where I room was located.
