I have stayed in many Hotel du Vins over the years and slowly the food and service is going downhill at a couple of the venues. Breakfast both here and in the Exeter hotel was lukewarm with scrambled eggs cold and inedible. Buffet selection average and service average. Such a shame as it used to be excellent and the rooms are amazing.

Liked: Great bistro and bar. Love the decor. Staff are great.
Disliked: Our room was smallish with steps down to the bathroom. Difficult to negotiate especially in the middle of the night. Also the sower has no handheld shower so if you’ve just had your hair done and don’t want to get it wet it’s impossible to shower. No fridge. No useable mirror for makeup.

Good by I expected it...

Liked: All in all good. Stuff was kind and welling to help. Rooms were old but good. However, I think they can increase the level of cleanliness. There is no lobby in the hotel but there is a good restaurant. According to the pictures in booking I thought it is more classy. The left is tooooo slow as well. One more thing is that they don’t have friges in the rooms that create a problem for me because I only drink cold water and I need to keep my medicine in the fridge.
