Liked: Good location near important atractions but highly unsafe area, especially în the evening. Good breakfast, room cleaning every day, comfortable beds.
Disliked: Unsafe surroundings, small and uncomfortable bathroom. Room heating was disappointing, we have noted the lack of air conditioning (for summer tourists) replaced by a room fan. Cleanliness was troublesome (although performed every day).

Good value but a bit...

Liked: Cheap for a weeks stay but as they always say you get what you pay for.
Disliked: Whilst the location is convenient the area is a bit intimidating if you are a single female. There are lots of men standing outside shops and bars calling out. Bit stressful when you are a lone traveller.

Not glamourous but reasonable value...

Liked: Good location: T1 tram stop virtually in front of hotel (connects directly to rail station); food options nearby, a Lidl a block away, lively neighbourhood, a short walk into central Lyon. Reasonable price. The bathroom was spotlessly clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet is a good instance of what you'd expect: good coffee from push-button self-service machines, juice, mountains of croissants (butter, several types of jam), emmenthal cheese, ham, maybe another cold cut, several flavours of (Danone) yogurt, sweeter breadstuffs (madeleines, pain au chocolat, fruitcake one morning, rolls and sliced bread, two types of very sweet breakfast cereals (milk). Wifi didn't drop out, but I did have to connect from scratch each morning.
Disliked: The carpet in the room was worn. It was humid during my stay and the room could be stuffy (although the windows opened). The bed was a heavy memory foam type of mattress and sagged toward the middle. It was very quiet for three weeknights but very noisy until late on a Friday night (I don't know that the noise emanated from the hotel or from neighbours who share a light well with the hotel.
