Beautiful hotel with friendly staff

Liked: This hotel lived up to its name with its color decor and artwork. The staff was very friendly with recommendations on things to do in the area, helping us get around the quickest way, and even helping us carry our bags to our rooms. The included breakfast was just what we needed to get our day going. We felt right at home here and would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Amsterdam. Very close to the metro and tram systems also!

Liked: The most beautiful interior and lighting in a spacious room. 2x occational chairs in the roomLovely breakfast with wide variety of meat, eggs, breads, fresh fruit etc.Friendly and helpfull staff at the front desk.
Disliked: The stairs are lovely and add character, but it was difficult with heavy luggage.

Wonderful stay

Liked: Hotel des Arts is an easy walk from the Centraal Station taking less than 20 minutes. There are plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants in the surrounding area making it an excellent choice for a break in Amsterdam. Hotel des Arts is a traditional Dutch property situated opposite one of the many canals. Everywhere is beautifully decorated and furnished. Our room was very quiet and had everything that we needed. We really appreciated the tea and coffee being refilled each day. The beds were extremely comfortable. Breakfast was fresh, plentiful and very tasty. There was a good choice including eggs, cheese, cold meats, yogurt and a variety of breads and baked goods. The reception staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable during our stay and also before we arrived, offering advice about trips and getting into the city from the airport.

Liked: The property was great. Rooms were lovely and a bit quirky. Location was also really good and central. It was easy to walk everywhere.
Disliked: The only negative was we were on the top floor with no lift. My mum is 75 so it wasn't ideal for her but we managed. I would say if you have issues with lots of stair request a room on a lower floor.
