Ideal City Escape
Liked: I recently enjoyed a very good stay at this hotel for a weekend in the city. Its prime location made it easy to reach everything either on foot or via public transport. The stunning view of the lake from the room was a highlight, and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. I recommend this hotel for anyone spending a few days in the city!
Disliked: The breakfast could be slightly improved, but it still provided a good start to each day.

Very bad service and very...
Liked: Very bad service and very bad value for money, to be avoided.I booked almost 3-4 weeks in advance for an important work engagement, explaining to kindly seek the following:-Silent room, away from noise sources-No carpeting for medical reasons-Bathroom if possible.I get the classic ‘we will do our best but cannot guarantee’ emails back. Then no upgrade, no bathroom, no silent room.Here are the problems at my check-in at 14:30h:-NO UPGRADE: Upon arrival I ask for an upgrade, it was not possible as even the rooms on the upper floors were carpeted. Good to know that in the whole hotel the most expensive rooms have carpeting that is decades old. It must not be easy for many customers.-DELAY : room not ready at 2.30pm. I am told that it was still 30 minutes until check-in at 3pm and the room was not ready. In 25 years of travelling I have NOT waited exactly until the check in time to get the room.-FILTH: I get the room at 3 p.m., go upstairs and find a lousy room. Attached you will find photos of the HAIR found in the BED and bathroom. I didn't even bother to look for them, they were right there. I was sure I would have found other cleaning problems if I had looked but I did not. I went back to reception, explained the problem and left for work.AWFUL BREAKFAST: I don't think I have ever eaten so badly in a hotel in Switzerland. No fresh produce, nothing is brought to the table, not even coffee. There is an automatic coffee machine, some bread (the braid was at least a day old), packaged yoghurt. The only ‘hot’ food was scrambled eggs (made with the mixture) and some small packaged sausages.
Disliked: Poor quality and service, comparable to a hostel if not less.-WORTHY CUSTOMER MANAGEMENT: the day after my arrival, I meet the reception manager who had managed the reservation since my arrival and the director. The manager apologised for the cleanliness very quickly and without much explanation. For every problem there was an excuse. For example, my room was given WITHOUT the manager's control. What do you mean? So because they were late, a proper job was not done? And if I hadn't noticed the hair and various dirt, no one would have said anything?-NOISE: old room with wooden doors at least 30-40 years old, I could hear people coming out of their room 30-40 metres away, as well as people walking in their room above mine. Furthermore, I was put IN THE MIDDLE of a GROUP of 40 middle-aged PEOPLE from ASIA. Result? Up until 1.30am and awake at 6am to the sounds of voices and people entering/exiting all around my room. I remember that I had written weeks in advance precisely to avoid these things. All it took was a little shrewdness not to put me in the middle of such a group.-AVERAGE ROOM: small, the cupboards don't even open completely (see photo), furniture at least 30 years old. I find it UNACCEPTABLE that a 4-star hotel in Lausanne, Switzerland, at >200fr per NIGHT with breakfast only does NOT know how to prepare a room less than 15 minutes after its scheduled delivery at 15h in the afternoon.I find the LACK OF CLEANING UNACCEPTABLE with the excuse that since they were in a ‘hurry’ (at 14:45) it was not checked as it is usually done.Icing on the final cake? The Reception Manager also never apologised, always with an attitude of arrogance and no friendliness and kindness towards paying customers, despite having made MANY Mistakes from the start.IN SUMMARY: place to avoid, overpriced, unacceptable price quality, deplorable customer care and management. NEVER AGAIN. A refund of maybe 15% was provide. Really? NOT ENOUGH!
