Very expensive for what you...
Liked: Breakfast was good, a great selection of food and it was kept topped up. The bed was comfortable, and the location was good for what we needed.
Disliked: There were no hot drink facilities in the bedroom, you had to go to reception and pay coffee house prices for a machine made coffee. The vegan shower gel smells awful. The room was small. The staff came across as disinterested and you often felt that you were a burden if you asked for anything, even a plate for breakfast.

Good hotel if you want...
Liked: It's quirky and the staff are friendly for the most part. The rooms were a good size.
Disliked: In our room one of the block out blinds did not work. Also while they have a lift it is also split floor so to get to our roo. We then needed to carry suitcases down 7 steps and back up again to leave. The location is good for a stop near the main train station but it is not the best area.

Great and unique breath of...
Liked: I was a bit unsure of the hotel at start as the photos of the decor felt like they could be trying to be overly trendy or something but after staying at Cocoon Hauptbahnhof, it was very good. I definitely loved the alpine chalet vibe in the middle of the city. Loved the elevator and feeling like you were moving on a gondola. The breakfast was very good though confusing on the first day about what to do. I just think the attendant wasn't around when arrived so I just did what I would normally do at buffet breakfast. It worked out. The food was really good good though and it was a great selection of hot and cold items. Well worth the breakfast and though I never used it at night, it was great to have a bar to drink at or a place to eat available right there. It was a really nice atmosphere. The room was very comfortable and I really like the rustic 'cabin' feel. The bed was very comfortable and the room was really quiet. Most European booking sites call it a double but for those coming from North America, it was a Queen size bed. Great blackout curtains kept the light out when sleeping and the windows did an amazing job of keeping the city noise out. It was super quiet in my location facing onto the inner courtyard though you can open them if you prefer fresh air. The bathroom was very clean and modern and did what it needed to do. Room service (not food) is on request but you access everything via a smartphone webapp. In their effort to be sustainable (or green-washed for cutting costs in many hotels) they don't do daily cleans, which is totally fine by me, but you can happily request anything from the desk or a housekeeping attendant. I do feel Coccon makes a genuine effort to be sustainable for the right reasons.
Disliked: The room was very comfortable though a bit spartan. I get that Cocoon is wanting to minimize what isn't necessary to manage the costs but there was plenty of room for a desk and chair. There was a built-in sofa bench but not very comfortable for any period of time. I travel to work sometimes and I wouldn't recommend it as a good place to work in your room for that reason. I'd hate to show up thinking I can just setup my computer and connect it to the TV like most other places I visit but you couldn't do that...at least in my room (Large Double Room - Relax Alm). I'm sure it would fine on a laptop in the lobby restaurant but not ideal when you need quiet..or larger screen as I do by connecting the TV screen.Having some basic coffee/tea facilities in the room would be nice also. Being on the seventh (top) floor has certain advantages but going down to the restaurant via a slow elevator when you first wake up to get a coffee to take back to your room isn't one of them. Not that I'm prone to accidents or worry about these kind of things but travelling solo and being in a different country did make me wonder what to do in an emergency and as there's no phone in the room to contact the front desk, using an app on my own phone would be cumbersome and difficult in an emergency situation. You could always call emergency services and try to explain in a different language where you actually are of course.
