Superb
Liked: Great room in an old casona with lots of charm, incredibly high ceilings, helpful staff and amazing location
Disliked: Balcony rooms were great but a bit noisy if you leave the doors/windows open to cool off; interior rooms quite hot and windows only opened to courtyard where others can see in. Recommend using warm white for light bulbs to avoid office-type lighting. Could use some maintenance TLC but great value regardless

Worse stay we ever had!
Liked: Hotel had a great location and the decor was close to it’s time period.
Disliked: We read previous reviews and thought this was a great option for an experience in a Historic Colonial Building. Such a disappointment! We booked 4 nights andafter arriving we were given room 201 facing the street which was lively. Never thought it could be an issue. Room was hot so we requested a fan and the receptionist brought a very old standing one. After getting back from dinner we got to our laptop realized that the Wi-Fi codes they provide never worked. I called reception a couple of times and they told me they will provide a new code but never called back. Only outlets to charge phones were in the bathroom. The room was hot so we plugged the fan and it was extremely loud so we opted to open the window of our balcony. The rest of the night was miserable!A man digging on the trash and throwing cans kept us up, fallowing by the trash truck at 1am. Then loud group of people parting outside until 3am. Finally decided to close the window after we got bitten by mosquitos. And then the loud fan again which was just blowing hot air. And all this didn’t even happen during the heat wave. After first night we just wanted to get out of there!! Came down to see receptionist just to find out that reception was closed. The only person I was able to find was the housekeeper which informed me that the receptionist had the day off, really? No 24 hour front desk as advertised! I called earlier and I got an answer on front desk but when I went downstairs it was closed. Calls get sent somewhere else but no one is on site. That’s why they can’t call you back! This is a Scam!! What happens if there is a serious emergency? Asked housekeeper that I needed to talk to the manager and that it was an emergency since there was no way we could spend another night like the one we had. She refused to call her boss because it was too early. 8:30am!?She said she will call our room after speaking with him.

Loved the unique experience in this historic building.
Liked: This is a beautiful historic building where every room has a different decor, including art objects, elaborately carved furniture, chandeliers. Our room was huge with a big bathroom and a small terrace overlooking the street. The decor included objects from India, paintings, etc. that were very interesting and unusual in a hotel. When we asked for extra pillows and a fan, they came almost immediately. The location was great, just one block from the zocalo, actually it was partly in the center.
Disliked: The street was quite noisy with party goers, cleaning trucks, and the police vehicle making very annoying beeps for no apparent reason. Because the rooms are not air-conditioned, it was difficult to keep, the terrace door closed and still be comfortable. But it was still fun to stay in such a unit building.

A great trip back in time.
Liked: This hotel was built in the 18th century and has been maintained to preserve its authenticity. Our room had a balcony above the street. It was very spacious with lots of antiques. The location is wonderful. There are great bars and restaurants on the streets below but it is not noisy at night. It is only a brief walk to the Zocalo and the artists quarter. All of the buildings in the historical district have been carefully preserved. The hotel is an extension of the street as there is no setback from the road to the front door. The Wifi is great but there are no other services. However, you can get whatever you want just outside the hotel.
Disliked: There was no wine opener or glasses in the room.
