Banks is an elegant art hotel located in a fashionable district less than 3 minutes' walk from the Market Square. It features design rooms with luxury bedding and free drinks and tapas in the Banks Lazy Lounge and Daytime Café. This hotel offers modern rooms with a flat-screen TV seating area and coffee and tea facilities. A mini fridge is available on request. Each morning a healthy breakfast is served at your table. This breakfast includes freshly-baked bread a choice of meats and cheeses boiled eggs bacon yogurt fruit juice and unlimited coffee and / or tea. The lounge offers a casual setting for a drink in front of the open fire. From Monday to Saturday guests of Banks can enjoy a selection of free drinks and tapas in the lounge from 16:30 until 20:00. On Sundays the tapas are served from 16:30 until 17:45. A free bottle of water is provided in the guest rooms of the hotel. The Plantin-Moretus Museum is 328 feet from the hotel and the Groenplaats Square with tram connections is less than 5 minutes' walk away. Antwerp Central Railway Station is a 20-minute walk from Banks.

My 6-day solo stay

Liked: Sharon on Reception was "Beyond excellent"Very welcoming, friendly and even said hello each shift I saw her. Genuinely wanting to know how my 6 days were going.The hotel style was really good, rooms airy and liked how immaculately clean it was.I would definitely stay again!
Disliked: The damn WiFi - go downstairs "reconnect" go upstairs "Reconnect" move around "Reconnect" this was frustrating.The other was housekeeping blocking the lifts and then "taking over the lifts for long periods" Holding the doors - so when the lift arrived to you it was full. Not just one laundry cart but maybe two or three. The last Mon-fri Breakfast. Wasn't great. Could be alot better.Fresh milk available for tea/coffee,, and the staff (lady) keep the food topped up and turned over. Regularly it was dried out and she was not caring about it. The weekend guy was attentive and it was there. You also got hello, good morning..... Huge difference.

Liked: Location. Staff were very friendly.
Disliked: The room was small and the toilet and bathroom layout behind glass door was not ideal.

Very good

Liked: Great value, excellent location. Clean, simple bedrooms. Beds are a little soft but not too bad. Nice touch with free evening aperitif and snacks.
