it was a warm roof...
Liked: felt fairly safe in the area and close to enough attractions considering we had a car (plus, the parking was free and our spot was right outside the front door). drinks and snacks from the vending machine were cheaper compared to accommodations i have stayed at before (ie. $1 for a water bottle, $2 for soft drink cans and chocolate bars). the room rate was quite cheap for the area and the building has a very hostel feeling (as a european traveller, i personally like this atmosphere but might not be for everyone!)
Disliked: room felt dirty (ie. mold spots in the shower cracks) and reception was a bit difficult to communicate with. we wanted to book another night as our plans shifted but the girl was not understanding us at all so we eventually decided to book our second night elsewhere after 15 minutes or so of communicating with her. could not find an ice machine, even though an ice crate was provided with cups in the room, and no one was at the front desk to ask so i am not sure whether the building has a machine or not.

Totally worth the value.
Liked: The room was clean and quiet.
Disliked: The breakfast was very limited, and the room was not well-equipped—no slippers or kettle were provided.

Good stay for a decent...
Liked: It’s a decent hotel for the price in Montreal. The room was clean and a decent breakfast was available free of charge.
Disliked: There was a hole in the ceiling and it would have been good to fix it since it may give a feeling of insecurity.

I was hopeful, but I...
Liked: The bed was comfortable and having smart door locks was convenient. Location wasn’t too bad but was a bit dodgy walking there from the metro.
Disliked: I had high hopes for this hotel and was honestly willing to overlook the very dated and rough interior but my final day ruined it. The room was very small, worn furniture and not really like any of the photos shown (I know they’re not the exact room but my room had a poor layout with the desk being the bedside table). The shower was warm at best and on the second day of my stay there was no running hot water so only a cold shower (even after 5 mins of leaving the tap on hot). I went to checkout at reception at 7:30am because I had an ‘outstanding bill to settle’ so couldn’t checkout online. There was no receptionist there for 10 mins so had to leave without actually checking out. Props to them, as they did eventually respond to the booking.com message and release the deposit on my card but this was far from a smooth experience. To top it all off there were loud guests in the communal area outside my room very loudly talking and playing videos on their phone out loud until about midnight and the walls were paper thin meaning they were effectively in the room with me. Also, google says this is actually a 2-star hotel but booking.com claims it’s a 3 star, what one is it?? Unfortunately I can’t recommend this hotel in good conscience, considering the price charged.
