Good location, unfriendly staff
Liked: Central location, generous breakfast, pleasant room (once we had insisted on changing rooms)
Disliked: Staff attitude. The room we had been allocated 'Comfort room' had no aircon, was stuffy (not aired) and very much geared to the disabled (eg washbasin in the room). When I complained the man at the desk said 'Thats the room you booked'. I countered that I wasnt aware I had booked that precise room, that I am clearly not disabled and in the heat, a lack of air con (and a broken fan) is not acceptable. He repeated 'Thats the room you booked'. So I then insisted it was not acceptable and he very reluctantly offered me another one - at an extra 40 euros a night. Parking is 18 euros a day, although the garage is clearly owned by the hotel. The hotel clearly takes a 'ryanair' approach to business - everything is 'extra' (wine, water, snacks in the room). No fridges in the room 'for environmental reasons' but you could pay to have one at 22 euros a night - so clearly the environment is not that important to the hotel management! As a result we did not feel welcomed, unlike at the other places we stayed where there were 'welcome' treats - eg water, fruit, and the receptionists were friendly and helpful as were the restaurant staff.
