Perfect location and great value

Liked: On a location/price/cleanliness basis I think it would be hard to beat Hotel Alda. It’s right in the heart of the city, steps from El Tubo and the major attractions. The rooms are a little outdated but represented well in the photos. I had a lovely view of Plaza Espana from my room. The deal with the Plaza Espana parking garage was also very helpful. Only complaint is that my room smelled of cigarette smoke when on Day 1.

Liked: There was a facility to relax with coffee and tea options available. Breakfast was big enough. Price-quality balance was good, especially if you compare it with cities such as Barcelona or Madrid.
Disliked: Bed could have been more comfortable. There was a window but without any kind of view and "interesting" odeur from outside. Water temperature in the bathroom is altered automatically.
