Liked: Location is excellent if you like golf or country walks!
Disliked: The whole experience was utterly rubbish,from being greeted by the lady on the door talking to someone from kitchen staff with a handful of dirty plates and to be left standing waiting for them to finish there conversation with no hello or anything,the lift was broken so had to carry our bags up the stairs, room was massive but really run down ,tv controller didn't work but by this point I couldnt be bothered to complain thinking it couldn't get much worse,was told food stop being served at 7.45 was the next completly unacceptable suprise forcing us to eat out ,on arrival back we were greeted by two staff looking out the window at us and upon entering asked whether we were staying here even though she had checked us in and saw us leave,we wanted a drink so went to the bar to yet again being asked were we staying at the hotel even though she had seen us enter!!we asked for 2 old fashions and with a huge grimace she got out the ingredients of how to make them,we went to the completely dead lounge and sat there talking quietly as we were the only ones in there and our drinks arrived and were almost undrinkable but at £15 i just wanted to drown my sorrows at this point,we played chess as there was no music,no tv and had to put logs in the fire to stop it going out,,,Enter steve who honestly was probably the best pat of it ,really nice guy and asked us if we wanted another drink to which we asked for two of the same ..he looked at us and asked us how to make them to which he tried his best and they were pretty decent..

Liked: The breakfast and evening meal were very good.Our room was large and very comfortable
Disliked: Our shower was difficult to control temperature but in fairness someone came to the room and explained the controls after which it was okay. Some notes on how to use the shower would have helped.Wine prices seemed extremely high.
