Liked: Staff were extremely welcoming and attentive. A charming renovated mill obviously converted some time ago. Rooms were spacious and clean although the decor a little dated. The evening menu offered several 'middle of the road' options catering for all. Staff kindly accommodated us with a 7:30 breakfast on Sunday as we needed to make an early start. The peacocks in the grounds were charming.

A cosy and comfortable stay...

Liked: We have stayed many times and always very pleased.The restaurant is very good and features a Water Mill.Whilst eating our breakfast we saw peacocks roaming around the grounds.
Disliked: We stayed in a room with a beam across the middle of it and my husband had to be careful not to bang his head every time he used the bathroom or got out of bed.

Liked: My wife and I stayed for one night while visiting the area. Our room, with four poster bed, was lovely, with a view towards the river.The restaurant, bar, etc are large and well equipped. We relaxed in the bar, examined the enormous mill wheel and machinery, then enjoyed a tasty dinner.In the morning, despite there not being many staying while we were there (remember the week of floods and torrential rain - most people had more sense than to travel!) the chef produced an excellent full English for my wife and I.
Disliked: The Mill is, we understand, under new ownership. The teamwork by the staff was excellent as they strive to return the mill to its former glory. There were a few rough edges but the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff far outweighed any negatives. I have no hesitation in recommending a stay in this wonderful building.

Friendly staff, great food and...

Liked: Good sized room, really friendly staff that ensured all queries were answered. Enjoyable evening meal, freshly cooked and a great breakfast as well. Stayed for provision of EV charging which was useful. Fast WiFi made up for lack of phone reception.

Disliked: This hotel is more geared to weddings and parties, not overnighting couples. We felt a little neglected when dining and toiletries in the bedroom were minimal.
